Lokkna is a neighbor-to-neighbor, friend-to-friend trading platform where users can trade as they wish. You could set up an online store to sell your items, buy from each other, or use barter trade or giveaway items for free. We connect the past, present, and future by allowing all transactions.

The idea behind Lokkna as a marketplace came about in 2019. But when the pandemic hit, our mission changed. We decided to provide the disadvantaged public on lockdown in developing countries, such as Kenya, a platform to trade without leaving their homes. Because we realized many people did not have money then, we decided to create a platform that allowed people to barter trade and exchange goods for services. Our mission remains the same. At Lokkna, we believe people, friends, and neighbors should have the power to decide how they trade with each other

Before creating your ad, ensure you have signed in to your Lokkna account by clicking Login or Join Us and enter your account information. You can click Join US a few minutes before posting if you don't have an account. And select your location. Note: Sometimes, it does not log you in the first time. This security feature ensures nobody logs into your account if you leave it idle for some time. Just refresh the page, and you should be able to log in without problems.

1. Click the Post Ad button at the top of the Lokkna page.
2. Choose the ad type from the drop-down menu. The options are Barter trading Sale Free item Offer a Service If you're selling or offering an item for free, please fill in the item's condition from the drop-down menu, like new, gently used, used, new, or as is. Note: It's essential to be accurate and precise with your condition label, and users rely on your integrity to decide whether to do business with you.
3. Select from the categories shown or click Or browse to find a category. Click Next to continue. Add the ad details.
4. Type in the name of what you're selling and choose a category.
5. Under the Ad Title section, click on the box and type in a descriptive title.
6. Add location manually or by letting our system detect. (Note: allowing the system to detect automatically will display the exact location address.)
7. Add pictures to your ad by clicking Upload and selecting the files from your computer. If you're having trouble uploading an image, check to ensure it's the right size and format. Contact us if you need help solving the problem.
8. Click into the box in the Description section and type in information about your ad. Be as detailed as possible. If you need to figure out what information you should add, think about what you would want to know were you the buyer.
9. Choose your local currency and enter the price.
10. Provide the extra details to give the customer more information about the product you're offering for sale.
11. If you want your item to sell faster, go to your account profile and choose the sell faster option at a $4.00 fee in the US. The amount will vary by country. This will get your ad to the front of the page.
12. To edit the ad, go to your account profile, my ads, and choose the ad you want to edit. Perform the changes and update. Choose your contact method. It defaults to the chat linked to your account, but you can choose phone only by selecting phone and then deselecting email.
13. Double-check your ad details. When you're ready, click Post My Ad. A notification will appear confirming your ad has been posted.
14. Lastly, promote your ad by sharing on social media and WhatsApp using our sharing features.
